Drug Data Processing System Update (Edit 870)

CMS has completed a Drug Data Processing System (DDPS) update as mentioned in the HPMS memo, “Part D Senior Savings Model Prescription Drug Event (PDE) Reporting Guidance (Part 2)” released on July 9, 2021. The update addresses the edit 870 rejections that Part D sponsors are receiving when submitting PDEs for Plan Selected Model Drugs in accordance with Example #3 in the memo.

Beginning on August 30, 2021, plans can resubmit PDEs that were affected by this issue. An updated Prescription Drug Event Edit Code Listing has been posted to the Customer Service and Support Center (CSSC) website at http://CSSCOperations.com – Tools>DDPS Edit Lookup>Download, to reflect changes.
